I love this yarn-- it's orange, which is something of an obsession of mine this summer, and I've had it in stash for well over a year, just waiting for the perfect project. The pattern is by Miriam Felton, and I've had my eye on it for ages; as done by Ms. Felton, it's simple and elegant, with a little whimsy. It looks like the perfect pattern for bright yarn. My problems weren't about the yarn; I could not for the life of me get the effect of the twisted stitches in my socks to look like the ones on the picture, and by the time I was halfway through the second sock, I'd basically given up.
I was the first project on Ravelry, and still have the only completed project; I hope other people make these socks successfully, and post something about how they get their socks to behave, because maybe, once the frustration fades, I'll give the pattern a second go.
I knit these using one circular needle and the magic loop method, but the pattern is written for five DPNs.
