it's really hard to take pictures of yourself

After restarting the neckline for a third time on Wednesday, I finally cast off my last sweater of 2012, which has become the first knitted anything of 2013 (well, except a couple of puffs, but I'm not counting those).  Then I ran around the apartment trying to get pictures of myself wearing the sweater.

I ended up with a lot of pictures of my stomach and my ass.  Not really the sort of thing I like to post on the internet, but since I just want to move on, I'm going with what I've got.

Here you can see the remaining funkiness of the neckline and band; I'm going to block the sweater and see if it resolves itself, but I suspect I'll have to rip out the neck band for a fourth time, and reknit it with fewer stitches to truly make it behave.  Maybe in February.  January is turning into a sock month, and I'm not unhappy about that.

Pattern: Blue Betty by Triona Murphy (very well written pattern, and I'm looking forward to knitting more of her designs)
Yarn: madelinetosh Tosh Merino, in Fathom (main color) and Venetian (contrasting color)
Needles: Knitter's Pride Dreamz interchangeables, US 7 & 8
And a link to my Ravelry project page, if you want to see what's there (hint: it's a different, but equally poor, picture of my stomach.  I'm consistent if not talented).

Thanks to Tami's Amis for the FO Friday meme!

Ah the knitter-self portrait. I'm always amazed at what I'm willing to do for the sake of getting rid of that damn "no photo" box on Ravelry. I've had to explain to a few non-knitters that, no, those are not pictures of my boobs, they are pictures of the neckline, thank you very much.

Your sweater is beautiful, and I hope blocking allows the neckline to smooth out the way you wish -- knitting the same piece of the same garment four times is seriously patience-testing!

Thanks for the link to Triona -- I've just queued her "Put Together" vest as a result of finding her site through you. :)
