Not this week!
Although my knitting time is limited of late, and my attention for detail even more so, I've had sweaters on my mind. Beautiful, cozy, well-fitting sweaters. In no small part, this has been a result of all the buzz around Amy Herzog's Custom Fit software release.
Anyway, the deal with the software is you put in really precise body measurements, really exact information about your swatch, pick a silhouette and your desired fit, and for $9.99 the website will generate a pattern for you, with all the math a fait accompli. There's a lot of really beautiful sweaters coming out of the venture-- both from people who generated their own patterns from stitch dictionaries, and from people who have used the software to generate the perfect fit for published designs. Here are some of my favorites; all of the following pictures are courtesy of the fabulous knitters making fabulous sweaters, and clicking on them should link you to those sources.
